NinjaFunction's Image Converter changes the format of your pictures between PNG, JPG and WebP. Add up to 20 images, choose the new format and quality, and see the old and new file size for each one. Pick a fill colour for see-through areas when you convert to JPG, then download the files one by one or all together as a ZIP. Everything is converted in your browser, so your images are never uploaded to a server.
| Format | How it saves | See-through areas | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| PNG | Keeps every pixel exactly, so files are larger | Yes | Logos, screenshots, icons and drawings |
| JPG | Drops fine detail you hardly notice, so files are small | No | Photos and pictures with many colours |
| WebP | A newer format that makes small files and can also keep every pixel | Yes | Images on websites, where speed matters |
At a similar look, WebP files are often about a quarter to a third smaller than JPG. All current browsers can show them, but some older programs and email apps cannot open WebP files. If you share a picture with people who may use older software, JPG is the safest choice.
Want to change the size as well? Use the Image Resizer, cut the picture to a shape with the Image Cropper, or shrink the file further with the Image Compressor.
Add your PNG file, choose JPG under Convert to, and download the result. If the PNG has see-through areas, they are filled with the colour you pick, white by default, because JPG cannot store transparency.
No. A JPG has already lost some detail, and a PNG cannot bring it back. Converting to PNG only stops further loss and keeps the picture as it is now. The PNG file will usually be larger.
PNG stores every pixel exactly, while JPG throws away details the eye hardly notices to save space. A photo saved as PNG is therefore often several times larger. For photos, JPG or WebP gives much smaller files.
PNG and WebP keep them. JPG cannot, so you can choose a fill colour for the see-through areas. White is the default.
Yes. Add up to 20 images, and each one is converted to the format you choose. Download them one at a time, or all together as a ZIP file.
HEIC is not supported, because browsers cannot open it. On an iPhone you can switch the camera format to Most Compatible, or share the photo as a JPG. An animated GIF is converted using only its first frame.
No. Your images are converted in your browser, so they never leave your device and nothing is stored after you close the page.
