DIGIPIN: India's Digital Address
DIGIPIN is a 10-character code from India Post that identifies any location in India to within about 4 × 4 metres. Find the DIGIPIN for any place, or learn how the system works.
Example: Nechhwa Fort, Sikar (Rajasthan) is 3CL JJ4 3T4K
4 × 4 m precision
Every 4 × 4 metre square of India has its own code, far more exact than a 6-digit PIN code.
Open source
Developed with IIT Hyderabad and NRSC-ISRO, with the code available publicly on GitHub.
No private data stored
A DIGIPIN is calculated from coordinates and does not store anyone’s address details.
