Generate secure, random passwords with customizable complexity options.
Password security is often misunderstood. Most advice you see online focuses on making passwords look complicated — uppercase letters, symbols, numbers — but the reality is simpler and more interesting. What actually protects your accounts is randomness, length, and uniqueness. Everything else is mostly noise.
When you generate a password on NinjaFunction, it's created using your browser's built-in cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). That matters — many "password generators" on the web use Math.random(), which is predictable and unsuitable for security. Ours never leaves your device: the password is generated locally in your browser, never transmitted to us or anyone else.
Attackers don't sit at a keyboard guessing passwords one by one. They use automated tools running on GPUs that can try billions of combinations per second. There are three main techniques:
Strength comes down to entropy — a measure of how unpredictable a password is. A random 12-character password using lowercase + uppercase + digits + symbols has about 78 bits of entropy. A random 16-character one has about 104 bits. For context, 80 bits is generally considered uncrackable with current technology.
This is why our generator uses a cryptographically secure random source and lets you pick the length. The more characters you allow, the exponentially harder the password becomes to guess. Every extra character roughly multiplies the search space by the size of your character set.
