About This Tool

NinjaFunction's SIP Calculator estimates how an investment may grow. Choose a monthly SIP or a one-time amount with compound interest, enter the amount, the expected yearly return and the years, and see the future value, the amount invested and the estimated returns. Real returns vary and are not guaranteed. Nothing is stored or sent.

🔑 How to Use

  1. Choose Monthly SIP or One-time (compound).
  2. Enter the amount, the expected yearly return and the number of years.
  3. For a one-time amount, pick how often interest is added.
  4. Read the future value, the amount invested and the estimated returns.

💡 Pro Tips

  • ✔ Start early: time matters more than the amount. Compare 10 years with 20 years.
  • ✔ Use a cautious rate when planning, such as 8 to 10%, not the best year you have seen.
  • ✔ Taking a loan instead? Use the EMI Calculator.

SIP vs One-time Investment

A SIP spreads your money over many months. You buy more units when prices are low and fewer when prices are high, which smooths the cost over time and does not need a large amount to start. A one-time investment puts all the money to work from day one, so it benefits from compounding for longer, but it depends on the market on the day you invest. Switch between the two tabs to compare how the same rate behaves.

How Compounding Works

Compounding means you earn returns on your earlier returns. ₹1,00,000 at 10% a year becomes ₹1,10,000 after one year, and ₹1,21,000 after two, because the second year's 10% is taken from ₹1,10,000. In the one-time tab you can also choose how often interest is added: more frequent compounding gives a slightly higher result.

Limits of Any Calculator

  • Real market returns go up and down each year. This tool uses one steady rate.
  • Fees, taxes and inflation reduce what you keep and what the money can buy.
  • Past returns do not promise future returns.
  • Use the result to plan, then talk to a licensed adviser before you invest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a SIP?

A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) invests a fixed amount in a fund every month. Small regular amounts grow through compounding over many years.

How is the SIP value calculated?

FV = P × [((1 + i)^n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i), where P is the monthly amount, i is the monthly return (annual rate ÷ 12) and n is the number of months. Payments are assumed at the start of each month.

Are the returns guaranteed?

No. Market-linked returns change every year. The tool uses one steady rate that you choose, so the result is an estimate, not a promise.

What is compound interest?

Interest earned on both your original money and on earlier interest. A = P × (1 + r ÷ n)^(n × t).

This is not financial advice, right?

Correct. It is a calculator for estimates. Talk to a licensed adviser before you invest.
