About This Tool

NinjaFunction's Age Calculator works out your exact age from your date of birth. It shows years, months and days, the total months, weeks and days you have lived, the weekday you were born and how many days are left until your next birthday. You can also pick any other date to find your age on that day. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

🔑 How to Use

  1. Enter your date of birth with the date picker.
  2. Leave the second date as today, or pick another date to find your age on that day.
  3. Read your age in years, months and days.
  4. Check the extra numbers: total days, weeks, months and days to your next birthday.

💡 Pro Tips

  • ✔ Forms that ask for age on a cut-off date (exams, jobs): set the second date to that day.
  • ✔ Type the date if the picker is slow: use the year-month-day order your browser shows.
  • ✔ To count the time between two dates that are not birthdays, use the Date Difference Calculator.

Why Months and Days Matter

Many application forms ask for age in years, months and days. Counting by hand is easy to get wrong because months have 28 to 31 days. This calculator follows the calendar, so 31 January to 1 March in a leap year is 1 month and 1 day.

How Age Is Counted

Age is counted in whole years first. You turn one year older on your birthday, not before. After the whole years, the calculator counts whole months, and the days that are left over. For example, someone born on 15 March 2000 is 25 years, 3 months and 0 days old on 15 June 2025, and 25 years, 3 months and 17 days old on 2 July 2025.

Leap years are handled by the calendar, so 29 February birthdays and 366-day years do not cause errors. A person born on 29 February is counted as having their birthday on 28 February in a common year.

Age on a Cut-off Date

Exams, job forms, school admissions and government schemes often ask for your age on a fixed date, such as 1 January or the last day of the application window. Set 'Age at the date of' to that date to see the age that counts for the form. If the form allows a minimum age of 18 and you are 17 years 11 months on the cut-off date, you do not qualify, even if you turn 18 a week later.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is age calculated?

The tool counts the full years from your date of birth, then the full months left over, then the remaining days. It uses the real calendar, so month lengths and leap years are handled.

Can I find my age on a past or future date?

Yes. Change the 'Age at the date of' box to any date after your birth date. This is useful for forms that ask for your age on a set date.

What if I was born on 29 February?

Your birthday is counted on 28 February in years that are not leap years.

How many days old am I?

The total days lived is shown in the results, with total weeks and months.

Is my date of birth stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
