Your audio stays on your device. It is trimmed in your browser and never uploaded.
NinjaFunction's Audio Trimmer cuts a part of an audio file in your browser. Open an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file, see its waveform, drag the start and end handles or type exact times, preview the selection, add a fade in or out, and save the clip as a WAV file. Stereo can be made mono for a smaller file. Your audio never leaves your device.
| You type | It means |
|---|---|
| 12.5 | 12.5 seconds |
| 1:05 | 1 minute and 5 seconds |
| 1:05.5 | 1 minute and 5.5 seconds |
| 1:02:03 | 1 hour, 2 minutes and 3 seconds |
No. The file is decoded and cut inside your browser, so it stays on your device and nothing is sent or stored.
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and Opus, as long as your browser can play them. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari handle most of these.
A WAV file keeps the full sound quality and every player and editor can open it. The downside is that it is bigger than an MP3. Use the mono option to make it about half the size. The sound is saved at the audio rate of your browser, usually 44.1 or 48 kHz.
The tool decodes the audio and saves the part you chose without compressing it again, so you do not add new loss. Any loss that was already in the MP3 stays.
Drag the handles for a rough cut, then type the times in the Start and End boxes, such as 12.5 or 1:05.5. You can also click a handle and use the arrow keys for steps of a tenth of a second.
A fade makes the sound rise from silence at the start, or drop to silence at the end. It avoids a harsh click when the cut is in the middle of a sound.
Yes, you can cut the part you want. Most phones accept a WAV or can convert one, but some need an M4R or MP3 file, which this tool does not make.
Files can be up to 150 MB. Long files use more memory because the whole sound is opened in your browser, so a very long recording may be slow on a phone.
