Applied after the first discount, like a coupon on a sale price.

Enter the price and the discount.

About This Tool

NinjaFunction's Discount Calculator shows the price you pay after a percentage discount and how much you save. Add a second discount, such as a coupon, and it is applied to the reduced price, as shops do. You also see the total discount as a percentage. It runs in your browser.

🔑 How to Use

  1. Enter the original price.
  2. Enter the discount percentage.
  3. Add an extra discount if you have a coupon.
  4. Read what you pay and how much you save.

💡 Pro Tips

  • ✔ Compare deals by total discount, not by the first number in the advert.
  • ✔ Add GST after the discount, as shops usually do.
  • ✔ Use the Percentage Calculator for other percent questions.

₹2,00020%—₹1,600
₹2,00020%10%₹1,440
₹99950%—₹499.50

Why 20% + 10% Is Not 30%

When a shop gives 20% off and a coupon takes another 10% off, the second discount applies to the reduced price. On ₹2,000, 20% off gives ₹1,600, and 10% off that is ₹1,440. Your total saving is ₹560, which is 28%, not 30%. This calculator applies the discounts one after the other, the same way shops and checkout pages do.

Smart Shopping Tips

  • Compare the final price, not the percentage. 30% off a higher list price can cost more than 20% off a lower one.
  • Check what is excluded. Delivery fees and taxes may be added after the discount.
  • Watch for 'up to'. 'Up to 70% off' only means one item has that discount.
  • Do not buy only for the saving. A discount on something you do not need is still money spent.

For Sellers

Before you run a sale, check that your discount still leaves a profit. If your margin is 30% and you give 20% off, only a small part of the margin is left, and an extra coupon could take you below cost. Use this tool to test the final price, then use the GST Calculator to add tax.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a discount?

Multiply the price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the savings. Subtract that from the price. 20% off ₹2,000 saves ₹400, so you pay ₹1,600.

What if there are two discounts?

The second discount applies to the already-reduced price, not the original. 20% then 10% off ₹2,000 is ₹1,440, a total saving of 28%, not 30%.

Why is two discounts not the same as adding them?

Because the second percentage is taken from a smaller number.

Does it include tax?

No. Add tax afterwards with the GST Calculator if it applies.
